Really delighted to welcome a fellow book blogger Katherine Sunderland from BlibliomaniacUK Book Blog for an Afternoon Tea With Mrs Bloggs Q&A today
Tea or coffee?
Tea – always.
Usually a supermarket’s own brand or Yorkshire Tea but I’m not that fussy. I try and stick to decaf tea as I drink such huge quantities of it!
Yes please. Can’t resist carrot cake although the children and me make a mean chocolate and banana bread loaf using a recipe from Fay Ripley’s cook book which is also a bit of a favourite!
One outstanding book from this year?
Lullaby by Leila Slimani – I also really loved The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn. And Bring Me Back by B A Paris. And…..oh, just one wasn’t it…sigh…!
How large is your TBR pile?
That’s confidential information! I did make a pile of 30 books at Christmas which I really wanted to make sure I read in 2018, but I haven’t started any of them and now there’s a pile next to it that’s three times as high with books that I also want to read!
What are you reading now and next read?
I’ve just finished Dark Waters by Mary-Jane Riley and I’m about to start From a Low and Quiet Sea by Donal Ryan.
When were you happiest?
When I was last lost in a good book. Or in Norfolk. With a good book!
What is your greatest fear?
Running out of books? (Don’t worry, I work hard to ensure this is unlikely to ever happen!)
Most embarrassing moment?
Telling Cally Taylor I loved her at Crime Fest last year. I was so star struck I don’t know what came over me…
The three baby albums I have for each of my children
What’s the worst job you’ve done?
Not sure I’ve had a ‘worst’ job but some of the things I did in the early days were just a bit boring. When I worked as a temp I often had a book resting on my knees under my desk!
If you go back in time where would you go?
1920s. I just love the dresses.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My children – and starting a new career in my 40s!
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
My Head of 6th Form at the College I went to use to tell us at every assembly to ‘reach for the stars’. Why not? Don’t ever underestimate what you can achieve.
Thanks Katherine for joining me today. Love your replies
My name is Katherine Sunderland and I am a bibliomaniac!
I love books – reading them, reviewing them and talking about them!
I started my blog bibliomaniacuk.blogspot.co in 2016, and this is where I share my book reviews, guest posts, author interviews and blog tour posts.
I run book events in the lovely Harpenden Arms pub where I live. Authors come along and chat about their books; people have a chance to buy the books, enjoy a drink, enter a raffle and mingle with the authors.
I also work for No Exit Press, an Independent Publisher of Crime Fiction and all things noir!
